I love me an archival project. Always have. I keep ticket stubs and scrapbooks full of band posters and festival wristbands. I get caught up thinking about what was happening on this day, five years ago. What music was playing, what movie I was watching, what book was on my bedside table.
I also love reading. I have since I was a kid, but it really fell away as I got older. Enter: audio books. Some say they don’t count, but if it means I’m devouring stories again, bring it on!
So here’s an exercise in type, and a selection of books I’ve ‘read’ this year. I think my count is up to 26, and I’m hoping to build on that in 2019. I have an embarrassing love of crime/thriller/murder mystery (recommendations, come at me), really enjoy an autobiography, and trying to seek out more that will help me as a human.

Reflecting on the past year and trying to take the time to acknowledge all that’s happened, all that’s been achieved. Too often I blow past things that I wouldn’t have dreamt about doing a couple of years ago, because I’m already focusing on what’s next. Trying to take the time to relax, take stock, and yeah, maybe even give myself a pat on the back. I’m also making sure there’s time to watch a lot (OK all) of The Bold Type.

About six years ago I drew this. Goals for 2019: I’d like to spend some more time drawing eyes and overexcited eyebrows on, and imagining conversations between, other household items.
